Dysfunctional Families or Awkward Family Photos?

It's a shame really, but I reckon a couple of family snaps of my brothers and sisters and me could've probably made it into this book due to be released on May 4th, 2010.

For instance, I recall that one family vacation to New Zealand (travelling both islands in a camper van), my Mum decided that perhaps the Brady Bunch had nothing on us!! Matching hand-made 70's style pyschedelic floral boardshorts for the boys and skirts for the girls... all five kids ranging from big to little (boy, girl, boy, girl, boy) with matching bright yellow t-shirts each with our name boldly printed across our chest.

Alas - I don't think anyone in the family felt an urge to capture a Kodak moment for prosperity.

The book by Mike Bender and Doug Chernack (how's that for 'awkward' names) is entitled "Awkward Family Photos" - but looking at some of the promo pics, might be more aptly named "Dysfunctional Families".

One thing this book proves, is that you can choose your friends but you cannot choose your family!! :)

Who looks happier? The dog or the Dad? Hmmm...



Sometimes parents can be just so very scary!!



What happened - too little material for another pair of pajamas? Or just too much egg-nog?

These dolls used to give me nightmares - I think they will again... :(
