
An air steward has been arrested in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, suspected of being responsible for the murder of a baby girl.
Chan Hui Vern, who was just three years of age, was in a coma at the Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia for a week, before passing away on Monday as a direct result of her tragic head injuries.
By all accounts, the young girl's 27-year-old mother was at work in a hair salon on 5th August, when she received a call from her boyfriend. He informed her that the girl was having seizures. The mother hurried home to their apartment in Bukit Jalil, only to find her daughter unconscious.

Following Chan's death, police arrested the boyfriend, a 25-year-old air steward, and he is suspected of having caused the head trauma to the toddler by assaulting her in a fit of rage.
According to Cheras deputy police chief Superintendent, Abdul Rahim Hamzah Othman, police had obtained a seven-day remand order for the air steward to remain in custody while the case is investigated.
