A baby that was born premature was pronounced dead at birth. She then "came back to life" after five hours in a hospital cooler.
The baby girl was in a cooler at the Western Galilee Hospital in Nahariya, Israel, and when her father asked to see her body, she miraculously showed signs of life!
According to the Deputy Chief of Staff at the hospital, Dr Moshe Daniel: "I've been a doctor for 35 years and this is the first time I've ever seen such a thing happen. This is somewhat of a medical miracle. We've informed the Health Ministry and I guess they'll appoint a commission of inquiry. The hospital will ask for an external investigation of the case."
The incident occurred only 5-months into the pregnancy, due to the discovery of internal bleeding of the mother who is aged 26. The embryo at that stage was showing no signs of life.
According to hospital officials, an abortion was then conducted, and the baby, weighing 610 grams, was extracted from the mother's womb without a pulse. It was then taken to a laboratory for tests.
However, Dr Daniel is still pessimistic as to the baby's chances of survival, "because of just how premature she is, her chances are very slim. Then again, she already saw divine intervention once so you never know. We're doing everything we can for her."
